One of the first supergroups to come together at the end of the 1960’s, Humble Pie was a hard rock band formed by frontman Steve Marriott and guitarist Peter Frampton, bassist Greg Ridley and drummer Jerry Shirley. As these members were already well-known as individual musicians, they holed up in Marriott’s Essex cottage maintaining a rigorous practice schedule. Shortly after signing to the Immediate label, Humble Pie debuted the album As Safe as Yesterday with single “Natural Born Bugie” becoming a UK number five hit. The band doubled up that year with their second album Town and Country which displayed a more acoustic sound and was quite the departure from their heavy sounding first album.
After Immediate filed for bankruptcy in 1970, Humble Pie switched to A&M Records. At this point, the band was getting wide recognition for their live US rock shows. The group’s fourth album Rock On, became their most successful to date in 1971, and a live performance album recorded at New York venue, Fillmore East reached No. 21 on the Billboard 200 and was certified gold by the RIAA. Prior to the live album’s release, Frampton departed to embark on a solo career. Jerry Shirley became the remaining original member of the band and has kept Humble Pie’s legacy alive throughout the years via changing lineups and live tours.
Next Level 3900 is a form-fitting silhouette that offers an amazing feel. This crew neck features ultra soft 100% combed ring spun cotton, longer body length and binding side seams. It is ready to be worn on many occasions.
